Choosing the best Warzone AR is incredibly important to any player looking to get a competitive edge, especially those trying to claim a dominant victory in Season 6.
The best AR in Warzone constantly changes with each update. This weapon category offers fantastic damage, incredible accuracy, and great range — making the Assault Rifle class the most dominant in the entire game. Versatility is imperative in Warzone, so it’s not hard to see why ARs remain such staple picks among both competitive and casual players.
Whether you wish to beam your foes with laser-like precision or simply want a do-it-all gun you can rely on, you’ll want to add an AR to your loadout. However, not all weapons in Warzone are the same. In fact, there are only a few that are truly worth leveling up and using.
To help you blast through Warzone’s Season 6 update, we’ve put together an Assault Rifle tier list that ranks all of the best Warzone ARs and the attachments you should be using for them.
23. FR 5.56
The FR 5.56 certainly is going to win any awards for its damage.

The FR 5.56 has underperformed in every category since Season 1 thanks to its terrible damage and ridiculously slow rate of fire. However, the FAMAS did famously see a small surge in popularity when both JGOD and Drift0r discovered a build that enhances its damage.
This loadout is centered around using the weapon in semi-automatic mode. Not only does this increase the gun’s overall accuracy in mid-range firefights, but it also helps decrease the FR’s recoil. While it still won’t beat the Krig 6 and FARA loadouts, this build proves that even the non-meta guns can still shine.
22. FN Scar 17
The limited clip size makes the Scar hard to recommend.

With the likes of the Krig 6 and ever-popular FARA 83 loadouts dominating the Modern Warfares virtual battlefields, the FN Scar 17 has struggled to shine in the current Warzone meta. This is largely down to its incredibly small clip size and slow rate of fire.
Despite this shortcoming, the Scar is capable of delivering some highly accurate shots – just don’t expect to kill multiple foes in a single clip.
21. Oden
This Oden loadout hits incredibly hard.

Despite having one of the beefiest recoil patterns in the entire game, the Oden packs a mighty punch if you’re willing to learn its intricacies. In fact, if you can master its vertical recoil pattern and deal with its methodical fire rate, you’ll have a gun that can down fully armored opponents in just a few shots.
The damage per bullet is pretty high and if you manage to land any headshots, then your foes will be hitting the ground quicker than the Oden’s reload animation. Make sure you utilize both the Colossus Suppressor and Oden Factory 810mm Barrel as both these attachments turn the AR into an absolute beast at range.
20. AN-94
The AN-94 is another burst-fire rifle that just falls short.

This Russian rifle is one of the more unique guns in the AR category as it features a hyper burst mechanic, which greatly improves accuracy and alleviates the initial recoil. This reduction enables players to fire off tightly grouped 2-round bursts towards the target without having to constantly wrestle for control.
Unfortunately, when compared to the likes of the AUG and M16, there is just little reason to take the AN-94. While its accuracy may be good, it really struggles to duke it out against full-auto and other burst-fire weapons.
19. FAL
The FAL is no longer the monster it once used to be.

While the FAL proved to be a popular pick in previous seasons, it has fallen from grace after Raven Software reduced the bodyshot damage. It may no longer be the three-shot rifle it used to be, but it is still one of the most lethal ARs in Warzone.
In fact, you’ll be able to down a foe within five shots, provided you have the aim. Just don’t expect to be able to outgun fully automatic guns in close to medium-range firefights. Even those with a quick trigger finger will still get outpaced by the likes of the FARA 83.
18. Groza
The Groza excels in mid to close-range fights.

The Groza is another assault rifle that comes packed with a speedy rate of fire. This makes it particularly lethal in close to medium-range fights where quick-firing weapons dominate the competition. Despite receiving some nerfs in Season 4, the Groza is one AR not to overlook.
Just like most Black Ops Cold War ARs, you’ll need to try and avoid any long-range engagements as the damage drop-off is fairly significant. It may not be a meta pick, but the Groza can net you a decent bounty of kills if enjoy aggressively pushing your foes.
17. Grav
The Grav boasts decent damage but does have quite a bit of recoil.

The Grav is the latest Assault Rifle to be released in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, joining the new .410 Ironhide shotgun. It has a close resemblance to the Galil from past Call of Duty games, combining a fast fire rate, high bullet velocity, and decent damage.
The only downside with this new Cold War AR is it has a moderate recoil pattern. This does make it rather difficult to use in longer-range engagements, but if you use the attachments above, you’ll see some success across Verdansk.
16. AS VAL
The AS-VAL performs more like an SMG than an AR.

This Assault Rifle boasts a blisteringly fast rate of fire and incredibly quick TTK, making it more akin to that of an SMG. Not only does the AS VAL’s lightning-fast fire rate allow it to rival the game’s most popular SMGs, its clean iron sights and integral suppressor give you a lot of choices when it comes to attachments.
Due to the large-scale nature of Verdansk and the limited ammo from the 30 Round Mags, this gun does struggle to kill any foes in mid to long-range distances. There’s also the fact that if you pair it with another AR, you’ll have to split your already limited ammo reserves between the two.
15. StG44
The STG44 boasts decent damage but has a lot of recoil.
There are currently two blueprints that can be unlocked for the STG 44 in Warzone. The Bonerattler can be acquired at Tier 24 of the Battle Pass, while the Warning Track is unlocked at Tier 64. While it may still be early days for this Vanguard weapon, it doesn’t look like it will overthrow the current meta ARs.
This is partly down to the STG44’s high visual recoil and the inability to change any of the gun’s loadout options. This will likely change when the Vanguard integration officially begins, which will enable players to choose 10 attachments. Until then, the STG44 remains in the middle of the pack.
14. QBZ-83
The QBZ-83 does have the potential to unleash some pretty devastating damage.

The QBZ is often overlooked by a lot of players, but this AR is a pretty well-rounded weapon. This particular loadout boosts the QBZ-83’s already great speed, but also increases the gun’s accuracy and firepower.
While this bulky rifle may struggle in long-range firefights, it is pretty deadly in close to medium distances. Unfortunately, the tradeoff in mobility does leave it feeling a little off, particularly when it isn’t all that powerful.
13. RAM-7
The RAM-7 is one of the most underrated ARs in Warzone.

This lightning-fast AR famously became popular in Season 4, back when it was introduced as floor loot. Since then, Warzone players have discovered how powerful this AR can truly be. While the RAM-7’s popularity has dwindled, it can still shred through even the tankiest of foes.
The current meta build is all about increasing the gun’s range and accuracy, which makes it a lot more viable in mid-range firefights – an area the RAM-7 has often struggled to excel in.
12. FFAR 1
The FFAR is currently the most dominant gun in Warzone.

The FFAR was hit with a whole wave of nerfs in the mid-season update – in fact, the only thing that wasn’t reduced was the gun’s neck multiplier, which has been increased from 1 to 1.2. While it may no longer be the best Assault Rifle in Warzone, it can still dish out decent damage, provided you kit it out with the right attachments.
With this loadout, it’s all about the close-quarter gunfights and pushing enemies aggressively at speed. The FFAR thrives in these engagements and with the Steady Aim Laser, your hip-fire accuracy will be pretty potent at close range.
11. CR-56 AMAX
The CR-56 AMAX continues to dominate the AR meta.

The CR-56 AMAX (or the Galil) has remained a popular pick since its introduction into Warzone. Despite the small nerf to its damage, and yet another in Season 4, this AR is still a great option for those that wish to rack up high kill count games.
The most lethal AMAX loadout is all about pushing the gun to its ranged limits, while also keeping its ADS speed to a minimum. Don’t be put off by the AMAX’s 45 Round clip, as this AR is capable of pumping out some truly dizzying damage numbers.
This is especially true when you manage to capitalize on the gun’s headshot multiplier.
10. C58
The C58 is incredibly precise at across all ranges.

Not only does this weapon have an incredible rate of fire, but it is also capable of having no recoil when kitted out with the build above. This makes it extremely potent across all engagement ranges.
It’s certainly not hard to see why the C58 has quickly risen up the ranks, with many of the game’s top players utilizing it across both Rebirth Island and Verdansk. If you’re after an AR that can rival SMGs in close-quarter firefights as well as gun down foes at mid-range, then the C58 is a solid choice.
9. M13
The M13 is still a reliable rifle in Warzone Season 6.

After all, the high rate of fire can quickly leave you in the dirt if you miss those first initial shots. If you’re after an AR that offers both speed and precision, then you’ll want to give the M13 a whirl.
8. Kilo 141
The Kilo 141 has been one of the strongest guns in Warzone for a number of seasons now.

With this loadout, you’ll be able to effortlessly beam players from all distances without much recoil. Simply click on your target and let the bullets fly. On top of this, opting for the 50 Round Mags will allow you to rotate quickly and push an enemy once they’re weakened.
7. Krig 6
The Krig 6 has seen a rise in popularity across Warzone lobbies.

Despite this nerf, the Krig’s is still a great pick thanks to its great accuracy and minimal recoil. Expect to see this loadout still pop up frequently across Verdansk as players continue to wreak havoc with it.
6. M4A1
It’s not hard to see why the M4A1 has remained a staple pick.

5. EM2
The EM2 hits incredibly hard in Season 6.

While its fire rate may be on the sluggish side, the EM2’s overall kill potential is through the roof. Even in close-quarters scenarios, our EM2 loadout can obliterate players before they can even react. This makes it extremely competitive in the game’s current meta.
4. FARA 83
The FARA 83 has a ludicrous rate of fire.

3. Grau 5.56

Raven Software buffed the Grau’s minimum damage from 22 to 24, which has helped it rival the Cold War competition. If this damage buff wasn’t enough, the Grau’s overall speed enables players to quickly snap onto their targets and put an end to their game-winning dreams.
2. XM4
The XM4 is a great pick if you’re a fan of the M4A1.
