Warzone Pacific’s Caldera is a large place and sometimes you need a little extra range to defeat your enemies. Even though Warzone’s best sniper is subjective, the game offers plenty of sniper and marksman rifles to feel out. But if you want montage-worthy clips, you’ll want the best sniper loadout you can get.
Personal preference should dictate your sniper choice in Warzone, but with these long-range weapons, there is a more obvious trade-off to choose between.
After all, any of the game’s best options will let you knock a fully armored enemy with a well-placed headshot. However, the damage range, fire rate, and bullet velocity (which dictates your drop-off at range) vary. Once you’ve found the gun that suits your style, it becomes easier to find a perfect fit.
While we wait to figure out just how viable Vanguard’s Pacific options are, players are likely to continue relying on Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare 2019’s snipers. Among those, here are some damage profiles and rankings to start off with — as well as the best loadouts and attachments that maximize their individual efficiencies.

11. Best Dragunov loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 660m Extended Barrel
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Ammunition: 20 Round Mags
- Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
As unexciting a sniper as can be, the Dragunov is the kind of gun that makes you switch to scrolling Twitter when you get it in the pregame lobby. If you want to be a true contrarian, this is the best Dragunov we can come up with.
Like playing Warzone on Hardcore difficulty, kudos to anyone who secures kills using the ‘nov. While you’ll need serious skill to make up for the gun’s deficiencies, at least you can feel unique doing so.
10. Best Rytec AMR loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Rytec AMR Suppressor
- Barrel: FTAC Seven Straight
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Ammunition: 25x59mm Thermite 5-R Mag
- Stock: STOVL Tac Wrap
Next on our list is the Rytec AMR and while this is certainly better than the Dragunov, it remains incredibly unpopular among Warzone players. The weapon is relatively slow and heavy to use, but if you’re positioned in a stationary spot above your enemies the Rytec can be pretty deadly.
This loadout focuses on allowing a player to take out enemies at range with a stream of bullets. However, you’ll have to make sure you hit your shots as the Rytec has an incredibly small mag size.
9. Best M82 loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Wrapped Suppressor
- Barrel: 22.6″ Tiger Team
- Optic: Ultrazoom Custom
- Underbarrel: Bipod
- Stock: Airborne Elastic Wrap
A bit of a weird one, the M82 is somewhere between a DMR tactical rifle and an actual sniper. The thing doesn’t down people with ease, but it does feel kind of nice to use.
While this M82 loadout certainly isn’t built for long-range, it’s perfect for players who want a faster rate of fire and the ability to put a dent in enemies for their teammates to finish off.
8. Best ZRG 20mm loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Agency Moderator
- Barrel: 43.9″ Combat Recon
- Laser: Swat 5mw Laser Sight
- Ammunition: 5 Rnd
- Muzzle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
The ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle is another gun in Warzone that fits a weird niche. It’s supposed to be some sort of anti-materiel behemoth, so it definitely packs a punch when equipped properly.
Using this setup you’ll be able to one-shot enemies from a distance with a well-aimed shot. However, despite the weapon’s fearsome appearance and volume, it isn’t powerful enough to take one of the spots as a top-tier sniper rifle in Warzone.
7. Best Pelington 703 loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Wrapped Suppressor
- Barrel: 27.2″ Combat Recon
- Ammunition: Fast Loader
- Underbarrel: Bipod
- Rear Grip: Airborne Elastic Wrap
The Pelington 703 is a good sniper rifle for aggressive Warzone players who prefer to take pop shots. While the weapon definitely won’t do as much damage as the HDR, it does provide you with more mobility and a reduced ADS speed.
It’s worth noting that to down an opponent with the Pelington, you’ll need to land headshots. So, if you’ve got a sharp aim and prefer a less stationary playstyle, consider picking up the Pelington and giving this loadout a try.
6. Best LW3 Tundra loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Stabilizer .308
- Barrel: 28.2 Tiger Team
- Magazine: 7 Rnd
- Handle: Airborne Elastic
- Stock: Raider Pad
At this point, the Tundra has carved itself a reputation as BOCW’s best-ranged sniper rifle. In Warzone, however, it’s never quite reached the same level of popularity. Since you can’t use the Gunfighter perk in Warzone, you’re limited to five attachments — making the choices somewhat difficult.
As far as the best LW3 Tundra class, you can’t go wrong with the one made infamous by Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow’s R11 ace during the Challengers Cup.
Karma is arguably the greatest CoD player of all time, so it’s especially hard to disagree with his choices here. This class boosts the gun’s potential for speed and ADS, but, more importantly, helps its firepower and accuracy. It’s not the fastest or the deadliest, putting it somewhere around the efficiency of Modern Warfare’s balanced SP-R and AX-50 options. Like those guns, if you run this LW3 class, you should opt for a mobile AR or a steadier, mid-range-capable SMG.
5. Best SP-R 208 loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: SP-R 26″
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: Solozero SP-R 28mm
- Ammunition: Norma Mag
While the SP-R has fallen in popularity ever since it got fixed (since it used to have broken hitscan bullets), it’s still a pretty fun gun to use. Closer to the Kar98 and Swiss than some of the other options, the SP-R is a relatively versatile sniper with range and speed.
If you’re bored of the better options, check this SP-R class out. But, if you find it underwhelming (which you probably will), then swap to something deadlier — either for range or for speed.
4. Best AX-50 loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 32.0″ Factory Barrel
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Stock: Singuard Arms Assassin
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
A tried and tested favorite of the Call of Duty League, the AX-50 is probably the best balanced sniper in the entire game. While it can’t down people across the map quite as easily as the HDR, it’s a much more versatile option given its mobility, aim-down-sight (ADS), and firing rate advantages.
This AX-50 class maintains enough bullet velocity and accuracy to prove lethal from range, while still enjoying some mobility. You can be fairly comfortable pulling it out for a quick down during a gunfight before pushing with an AR or SMG.
Making this gun even more mobile to use is the Tac Laser, Singuard Arms Assassin stock, and Stippled Grip Tape. Collectively, these will steady out your movement, giving you increased aim stability and decreasing your ADS speed.
3. Best HDR loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 26.9” HDR Pro
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
- Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
This weapon is undoubtedly of the best snipers in Warzone. If you’ve ever been downed from hundreds of yards away out of nowhere… it was probably an HDR. This gun is heavy and slow-moving, but its sway and drop-off at range are both entirely negligible.
This is the HDR loadout for those who want to hit obnoxious shots. It’s not about moving around, downing an enemy, and rushing in with a numbers advantage. It’s about sitting back, taking out enemies from afar, and trying to knock Most Wanted contract-bearers out of their helicopters across the map.
2. Best Swiss K31 loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Sound Moderator
- Barrel: 24.9″ Combat Recon
- Laser: SWAT 5mw
- Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
- Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
By now, the Swiss is coming close to usurping the Kar98k for the best sniper in the game. This thing is fast, has a beautiful default scope and reticle, and it downs enemies with ease.
Like the Kar98, the Swiss is all about fast ADS, quick shots, and precise downs. It doesn’t do as much damage as an HDR, but it’s faster than almost all the other ranged options and packs a bigger punch than the Kar. If you’re tired of the 98k, but not tired of its functionality, this is the gun to move to.
1. Best Kar98k loadout for Warzone
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″
- Optic: Sniper Scope
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Perk: Sleight of Hand
Named the best sniper in Warzone by many pros and content creators alike. It’s not quite a sniper since it’s classified as a marksman rifle, but we all know what the Kar98k truly is. This thing knocks enemies from deep with just one headshot, while the longest ranges require a couple shots. And, to be clear, we’re talking about the MW19 version here — as the Vanguard one hasn’t quite lived up to the name.
The fastest ADS and mobility of any gun with this kind of one-shot potential, the Kar98 is the preferred class by all streamers. If you want an aggressive option from range, this loadout is the move.
The only question is the Sleight of Hand usage, which is great for reload speed and gun swapping, but can be sacrificed if you’re struggling to hit shots. If that’s the case, you can consider the Precision or Sport stocks instead.
Best Warzone Sniper Support Weapons
Once you’ve decided on the best Warzone sniper loadout for your individual playstyle, it’s then important you pick a solid secondary or support weapon.
Seeing as sniper rifles are ideal at long range, your best bet will be to find a weapon that is good at close- and medium-range engagements, leaning toward whichever suits you best. We’ve listed three separate weapon loadouts that are perfect when paired with any of the sniper loadouts above.
1. XM4 Close-Range “SMG” Build
- Muzzle: Suppressor
- Barrel: 13.5″ Task Force
- Stock: Raider Pad
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
- Optic: Microflex LED
2. Aydan’s AK-47 Close-Range “SMG” Build
- Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
- Optic: Microflex LED
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
- Rear Grip: Serpent Grip
3. Bullfrog SMG Loadout
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Barrel: 7.4″ Task Force
- Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
- Ammunition: 65 Rnd
While there are many support weapons that compliment a sniper loadout in Warzone, if you’re struggling to find that perfect fit, these three should prove to be successful in Verdansk!
Ultimately, there is no best sniper loadout in Warzone as its mostly dependent on feel in Call of Duty. You can’t spray and pray with a ranged rifle, you just have to be comfortable leading and landing headshots.
The best way to choose your preferred option is to give each a chance until you hit upon one that suits you. Make sure you check out our other Warzone guides to get a competitive edge in Caldera:
