miHoYo has officially released the date and time for Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream. It will be held on February 4, 2022, at 7:00 am (UTC -5). Genshin Impact livestreams have always been popular for information about the plethora of new content coming to the game. At first glance, it seems to take fans back to Inazuma to learn more about its lore and characters. There will also be a concert as part of the event, highlighting the game’s music.
There are always 3 individual Primogem codes during the Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream that anyone can redeem for 100 Primogems each and other materials. These usually have a 24-hour expiration time, so players should redeem them as quickly as possible. The codes will be shared throughout the whole livestream. It’s definitely something to look out for because it means free pulls. Primogems are always highly desired, and one of the best free-to-play ways to get Primogems are codes.
Character Banners are the most anticipated feature of Genshin Impact livestreams. Yae Miko is confirmed to finally make her way into the roster of playable characters. She is to be a 5-star Electro catalyst user. Further leaks suggest that her Banner will be within the first half of 2.5 and that it will not be concurrent with any other, so fans can pull for her without having to decide on another. Kazuha’s or Raiden Shogun’s first rerun are predicted to be in the second half. Raiden Shogun is seen on the official 2.5 livestream image so that further suggests her rerun. It is possible for Kokomi’s rerun as well.
New Genshin Impact 2.5 Quests And Bosses
With new Character Banners in Genshin Impact 2.5 come new Weapon Banners. Weapon Banners feature the promotional character’s signature weapon. Not only are signature weapons meant to suit the character’s skills perfectly, but they also match the character’s design aesthetically, which is another reason why people want to pull for them. Character leaks of Genshin Impact‘s Yae Miko further point toward the new 5-star catalyst being called « Kagura’s Verity » – and it will be her signature weapon. If the second half of the character banners are reruns, then the weapon banners will also feature their signature weapons. There may also be new 4-star weapons introduced.
Permanent content updates in Genshin Impact like quests or new regions will be announced. It is likely that Raiden Shogun will be the new weekly boss. All weekly bosses have a prerequisite storyline that players must complete in order to unlock them. Because the Inazuma Archon Quest has come to a close, people will probably need to complete Chapter 2 of Raiden Shogun’s story. This is further supported by the weekly boss Azhdaha, which was unlocked through Chapter 2 of Zhongli’s character story. It is also very likely that Yae Miko’s character quest will be released in tandem with her debut banner in the 2.5 update.
Although Genshin Impact Character Hangout Events are popular, it will be unlikely for any new ones in 2.5. This is because only 4-star characters have Hangout Events, and there haven’t been any new 4-star character beta leaks for the upcoming patch. Since it seems like players are coming back to Inazuma, the only character to possibly have a Hangout Event would be Kojou Sara. All the other 4-star Inazuma characters already have their first respective Hangout Event, and it is unlikely that they will be receiving Act 2 so soon.
Genshin Impact 2.5 Events Summary
Like with all previous livestreams, there will be a brief overview of all the events. Genshin Impact 2.5 looks like it will have about 5 events, in which players can participate to earn Primogems and other exclusive items. The pattern of receiving a free 4-star character, and then receiving a free 4-star weapon has been consistent. Genshin Impact 2.4 offered a free 4-star character, so next would be a free 4-star weapon in the next main event. Liyue’s Lantern Rite is annual because it replicates Lunar New Year. After Lantern Rite, it was predicted that something similar to Mondstadt’s « Invitation of Windblume » in Genshin Impact 1.4 will return. But with the previous mentions of Genshin Impact 2.5 Banners, it looks like 2.5 will primarily take place in Inazuma.
The main event will be called « Three Realms Gateway Offering. » Kokomi will make an appearance in this event, which is why her rerun is being strongly suggested. The event will involve lighting up the darkened region of Enkanomiya. This means the new catalyst « Oathsworn Eye » will most likely be the free 4-star weapon of this patch. The free weapon usually coincides with the skillset of the current 5-star promotional character, sometimes even aesthetically. In this case, Yae Miko could probably work well with « Oathsworn Eye. »
Leaks suggest a rerun of Genshin Impact‘s 2.1 Hyakunin Ikki Event, in which players complete combat challenges in teams of two. There will be a bunch of trial characters that people can choose from, with the addition of more recent characters. This rerun will most likely be a bit more difficult than before, considering past rerun events have always added more features that addressed player concerns. The rewards will probably be Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and Mystic Enhancement Ores.
Another fun event that might come next patch will be called « Of Drink A-Dreaming. » It seems to be a bartending event, in which players must mix drinks according to the characters’ requests. The guest characters will either be from Mondstadt (where the event takes place) or Liyue. Besides the event rewards, people can hear more voice lines from their beloved characters.
Information about the « Divine Ingenuity » event is also to be expected. This event is a unique one that requires co-op. However, with Genshin Impact‘s Domain issues during co-op play, the event may not run so well. Players must create their own Domain/dungeon using various obstacles and invite others to challenge it. There will be no mobs, so character level should not matter too much. The obstacles will most likely be elemental monuments, wind fields, and platforms. It’s probably similar to open-world puzzles or Trounce Domains that people can enter and complete through sheer exploration.
Genshin Impact 2.5 Changes To Spiral Abyss & Further Teases
Updates in the Genshin Impact Spiral Abyss will also be revealed. The buffs of Floor 11 will usually coincide with the current promotional character. That means that during Yae Miko’s Banner, the Spiral Abyss will probably include buffs that pertain to the Electro element. Additionally, the monster list will also be updated to include newer enemies, even elites.
Lastly, miHoYo may also announce surprise rewards or tease information about future regions and characters. Genshin Impact character leaks of Kamisato Ayato have been circulating online, but official news about him seems extremely unlikely during the Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream. Additionally, players should not expect to see any new regions such as The Chasm or Sumeru released. However, Dr. Baizhu has a considerable amount of screen time during this year’s Lantern Rite event. Along with miHoYo’s official art of Baizhu enjoying Xinyan’s concert during this event, perhaps more information about the Dendro element will come.
Rewards and actual event mechanics are all subject to change. Players should definitely check out the Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream on February 4 in order to know the exact details. If the speculated character banners seem enticing, it’s best for free-to-play fans to start saving now and participating in as many events as possible. It’s also a good idea to check official patch notes for details in bug fixes and new implemented features. Genshin Impact 2.5 is expected to be live on February 16, 2022.
